Welcome to the new group of Oral English Practice 2015-16

Dear students,

Let me take this opportunity to welcome you all to Oral English Practice.  I hope you all have settled in well and are enjoying the beautiful experience of learning and sharing real English conversations as if we were in a virtual trip that is going to become true.

When I look back upon my last groups, I recollect the first day of the programme when I was absolutely enthralled and even intimidated by what I wanted to do. Since then, each day has proved to be a stimulating experience as I have worked closely with students of different paths of learning and discovered aspects of my personality that I was virtually oblivious to.

The Oral English Practice will involve a significant amount of academic work and will let you put theory into practice through the live projects that you will work on in your respective teams.

I wish you all the luck as you embark upon this wonderful journey and I look forward to interacting with you over the next few months.

Laura: So... I go down this street and turn right into Catalunya Square.
Josep: No, turn left.
Laura: Okey, is it near here a bank?
Josep: Yes, In this  village there are 4 banks. What bank do you go?
Laura: The Caixa bank.
Josep: Go down this street. It's front of the library and my grandparents' house.

- Thank you. We have only been in Juneda for three days, so we don't know how to get anywhere yet.
- Oh, I know that feeling. I live here so I know all the places of Juneda

+I actually I like much more the pink one. I want to buy both, this T-shirt and the coat.

-Can I try this on? Where is the changing room?
-It's in the corner, at the back.
-OK, Thank you.
-Do you have it in another size? This one is too big.
-Yes, I do. Here it is. This is a medium size. Is it ok for you?
-It looks good. I will take it. How much does this cost?
-It's 22€
-Here you are, bye.
-Bye.

Ten minutes later..

-Excuse me, where can I find some jeans?
-Our jeans are at the back next to the trousers. Do you want me to show you?
-Yes, please. Show the place where they are.
-Of course. Do you want to follow me please?
-Yes. Thanks a lot.

Some time later

-Can I try these trousers on, please? Where is the changing room?
-It's in the corner, at the back.
-Thank you very much.
-Do you have them in another size? These ones are too small.
-Yes, wait a minute. Here they are. These are a bigger size. What do you think?
-They look much better. I will take them. How much do they cost?
-They're 18€
-Here you are, Bye.

* The football pitch? Er... It's not far. Go down this road and when you arrived at the high school, turn left into a Lluis Companys Street. In front of you, there is the library. Then turn right to the park and you will see the football pitch.
+ So... When I arrive at library, do I turn left?
* No! Turn right!
+ Okay, right. Thanks, bye!

+ Excuse me  sir the Football pitch?
- NO! You got the wrong way! When you arrive at the library, go straight ahead to the Marinada Street. Then when you arrive at the Marinada Street turn left at the traffic lights. But be careful, here there are a lot of traffic! Then, you will see a very big park! In front of the park there is the football pitch!
+ Okay! I hope I will be there so soon.
