Scotland 2014 - 2nd Day

Our trip to Scotland

SECOND DAY: We started the day early in the morning because we had plenty of visits planned. After having a considerable Continental breakfast in our hostel, we took the underground to go to Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum. We enjoyed the magnificence of this beautiful museum and its lovely gardens. Afterwards, we walked around the Glasgow University gardens, where we visited the university, its hall, its courtyards, and the chapel. The next stop was the Botanic Gardens with lovely exotic plants, trees, flowers and cactus. We walked along the glass houses full to overflowing of giant exotic plants that let us think we were in the jungle.
After having rested for a while, we walked towards the river Clyde to visit the new museum of transport called Riverside Museum, where we enjoyed the big collections of different means of transport throughout history. Next to the museum, we visited the Tall Ship anchored in the river Clyde. Later we walked along the river banks, delighting the numerous modern buildings such as the Glasgow Science Centre or the BBC Scotland  until one of the most famous landmarks of Glasgow, the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre that reminded us of the famous Opera House of Sydney. We also took a nice pic from there to the well-known Scottish icon Clyde Arc Bridge known locally as the "Squinty Bridge" over the river and then back to the train till the centre of the city again.
As usual, we had more time for shopping in the afternoon and time for leasure in the evening to see the amenities, pubs and the busy life area of Glasgow by night.
