Saint Patrick's Day Song and Symbols of this Festivity

Hello everybody,
We have a very special holiday coming up

It's Saint Patrick's Day

I have some fun facts about St. Patrick's Day
that I want to share with you.

St. Patrick was the patron saint of Ireland.
He was a Christian missionary.

We always celebrate St. Patrick's Day on March 17
On Saint Patrick you have to wear green
or you might get pinched!

Green is the symbol of springtime, and in Ireland,
it symbolizes hope and good things to come in the future.

We use the Leprechaun to symbolize St. Patrick's Day.

A Leprechaun is an Irish legend,
it's a fairy that looks like a little old man.
He's about two feet tall and dresses like a shoemaker.

Stories say that Leprechauns are magical.
They are really hard to catch,
but if you do catch one, they give you three wishes!

Wow! I would love to meet a real leprechaun!
How cool!

Did you know that the shamrock is the national symbol of Ireland?
It's different from a four leaf clover
because shamrocks only have three leaves.

Four leaf clovers are really hard to find!
Some people search clover patches for thousands of years,
and never find one!

Remember shamrock only have three sides!

People jig and dance to the music of the harp.
The Harp is the national instrument of Ireland!

Many towns have St. Patrick's Day Parades!

On Saint Patrick's Day we have fun with leprechauns, shamrocks and harps.
And we remember a godly man, called Saint Patrick.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Don't forget to wear green!

Bye
